Back In Reykjavik
July 13 - windy and sunny with temps in the 50s - Reykjavik Iceland
We had a great first day in Reykjavik. We took a taxi to our Airbnb and got settled into the wonderful apartment. It is close to downtown but in a quiet block. It has a lot of character since it is usually someone’s home.
Jack had contacted Erin Johnson who is the daughter of his cousin Jim. Erin has lived in Iceland for many years and is fluent in the language. She works at the International School as a special education instructor. We had a wonderful tome catching up with Erin and getting to know more about her time in Iceland. She has taken up rock climbing as a hobby and really enjoys it.
We had lunch at a nearby restaurant and the had to bid goodbye since she was headed out of town for a few days.
We went back to the apartment to work on the laundry and then headed out for pizza at a wonderful place recommended by people who were on our cruise. We had a pizza made out of sourdough with burrata cheese align with pesto and prosciutto. It was wonderful. We walked back in a strong breeze and got ready for our all day tour tomorrow.
